The Active Vision ABL-1P07-CPP is a single channel passive analog video balun transceiver (can transmit or receive) with push-pin terminals. Paired with a passive video balun, analog video can take advantage of the time and cost savings of using CAT5e for CCTV. Through years of research and customer feedback, Active Vision has altered their video balun design to include additional interference and noise filtering components, as well as using higher quality PCB boards and components. Active Vision video baluns have been proven to consistently out-perform competing video baluns. This allows you to finish your installations without having to install additional noise filtering devices for most applications.
- Push-Pin terminals for quick installation
- Additional noise filtering components built in
- Transmits analog video up to 1250ft (Passive to Passive) / 3000Ft (Passive to Active)
- Compact package makes them easy to hide
- Recommended wire: Cat5E, UTP (24-16 AWG)
- Compatible with solid and stranded wire
- Compatible with all major brands; Sony, Panasonic, Pelco, and all analog cameras.
Analog Video Baluns are ideal for use in closed circuit TV (CCTV) installations because they allow the transmission of video using ordinary unshielded twisted pair (UTP) wire instead of coaxial cable. Cat5 / UTP cables have become increasingly popular in CCTV security installations because they are smaller in size than coaxial cables. This makes it easier to route and run wires, as well as allowing more wires to be run in the same location compared to coaxial cable. Not only is UTP cable less expensive than coax cable, but with Video Baluns the cable runs are easier to terminate which reduces total installation time. In addition, the long distance video transmission capabilities and noise filtering abilities of Active Vision video baluns makes them perfect for use in nearly any building or across entire complexes.
Passive video baluns can be used in many different applications, such as long distance runs or point to point bulk video transmission. Video and power are transmitted from the camera through a video balun and CAT5e cabling to a passive video balun receiver located near the DVR. The ABL-1P07-CPP can connect directly to the DVR for standard CCTV installations replacing RG59 altogether.
Not all video baluns use the same pin-out, it is always a good idea to verify the pin-out of your device before connecting other equipment to it. The above diagram displays the correct wiring order for the ABL-1P07-CPP.
